IMPACT CHILDHOOD OBESITY International Technical Assistance Center (IMPACT/ITAC) was established to provide information, opportunities, and resources focused on four areas of significance for both healthy- and unhealthy-weight children and youth and their families.

Supporting identification, documentation, and dissemination of services and supports to improve outcomes and life experiences for individuals impacted by childhood obesity.

Supporting success in all educational environments for individuals impacted by childhood obesity.

Supporting success in all post school activities for individuals impacted by childhood obesity, including active participation in meaningful employment experiences and in all aspects of adult living.

Supporting collaboration and the development broad-based partnerships and networks at international, national, state, and local levels for individuals impacted by childhood obesity.

IMPACT/ITAC is a clearinghouse for effective practices and school-based programs based upon evidence-based research in preventing and reducing childhood obesity for preK-12 students as well as for up-to-date information on world-wide educational, medical, and community resources.

IMPACT/ITAC focuses on the following activities:

International Resource Collection and Dissemination. IMPACT/ITAC compiles and distributes extant knowledge and research focused on improving the lives of individuals impacted by childhood obesity.

Professional Development and Technical Assistance. IMPACT/ITAC provides consultation and direct service to all groups and organizations on planning, implementing, and/or evaluating effective programs for improving the lives of individuals impacted by childhood obesity.

Knowledge Improvement. IMPACT/ITAC promotes the use of evidence-based practices through its publications designed for international, national, state, and local education and other professionals working to improve the lives of individuals impacted by childhood obesity. ; teachers; parents; and youth with disabilities.
