Who Should Attend

Educators, school and community health professionals, youth-based organizations, parks and recreation professionals, and all other professionals involved in childhood obesity prevention efforts and initiatives.

Description

Childhood Obesity is a global concern which impacts the health and future of our children. Join us as we explore factors which underlie the current obesity epidemic and what is working in childhood obesity prevention and intervention. Emerging research, current practice and innovative ideas from the areas of K-12 education, community health and childhood obesity intervention will be highlighted.

IMPACT

Objectives

At the end of this conference, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss factors impacting current childhood obesity rates in the U.S. and worldwide communities.
  • Describe policy, educational and environmental approaches that can have a positive impact in childhood obesity prevention.
  • Identify resources, professional contacts and strategies to help with childhood obesity prevention efforts in your own work or community setting.

Agenda and continuing education credit information will be available by February 15th, 2010.
